Our Story

Family owned & operated since 2005

The Met Lounge has been a Morris staple since 1969. Originally opened as The Met Lounge & Diamond Supper Club, it quickly became a place where locals gathered, friendships were built, and nights out turned into lasting memories.

The name itself has a story. The bar was founded by Jerry Koosman—just two months after winning the World Series with the New York Mets—alongside partners Dave Wente and Bud Rentz. That connection is why many locals still refer to it simply as “The Mets.”

CJ and Stacey Fromm took ownership of The Met in 2005, but their connection started even earlier—when CJ worked there and the two first met. Since then, they’ve worked to honor the bar’s history while continuing to grow it into something that fits today’s crowd.

Over the years, The Met has been home to countless memories—from live music and street dances to community events and packed weekends. Whether you’re stopping in for a drink after work, catching a game, or staying late with friends, there’s always something going on.

Looking ahead, the goal is simple: keep The Met Lounge a place where the Morris community can come together, have a great time, and carry the tradition forward for years to come.
